History

In 1960 a small school opened renting rooms in the American Church of Paris. A few years previously, Patricia Lennen had arrived in France and had been teaching first grade at the American School of Paris. Patricia’s dream to open a preschool that would welcome American children, who were in Paris for a few years and wanted to learn French, came true. French families in the neighborhood registered their children wanting them to learn English: a bilingual school was born.
Today, the American Church is the home of our Preschool program, set in the heart of Paris overlooking the Seine, between the Eiffel tower and the Invalides. Our Primary school is just a few blocks away and the Toddler section is next to the Champ de Mars.
