As Lennen Bilingual School begins a new school year, we are delighted to welcome François Trégouët as our new Head of School. French-American and an experienced international school leader, François joins Lennen with more than 20 years of experience across French international schools, bilingual education, and different educational systems. His appointment marks a new chapter for a school that has been providing bilingual education in Paris for more than 60 years.
François’s professional experience has taken him across several countries and educational environments, from New York to the United Arab Emirates and California. Before joining Lennen, he served as Head of School at the Lycée Français de San Diego and previously held leadership positions in schools in New York and the United Arab Emirates.
This international perspective is closely connected to his own French-American identity and his experience working within different educational systems. Over the course of his career, François has developed particular expertise in STEAM education, technology integration, student wellbeing, and innovative learning environments.
He therefore arrives at Lennen with both extensive leadership experience and a strong familiarity with the opportunities and particularities of international and bilingual education.
At the heart of François’s approach to education is the belief that academic excellence and student wellbeing go hand in hand. Children, in his view, flourish when they feel known and supported, and when they understand themselves to be part of a strong community.
This perspective places the individual student at the centre of the educational experience while recognising the importance of the wider environment in which learning takes place. Academic expectations, wellbeing, relationships, and a sense of belonging are not considered separately, but as interconnected aspects of school life.
These priorities will accompany François as he takes on the leadership of Lennen and begins working with its students, teachers, families, and wider community.
François joins Lennen at an important moment in the school’s development. Over the past year, the school has focused on strengthening educational quality, improving the student experience, and ensuring that Lennen is positioned for long-term success.
This work builds on more than six decades of bilingual education in Paris. As the school moves forward, the objective is to respect the distinctive spirit that has shaped Lennen while continuing to prepare students for an increasingly international and changing world.
François’s arrival forms part of this continuity. His international experience, understanding of bilingual education, and approach to school leadership will contribute to the next stage of Lennen’s story while building on the foundations already in place.
Before formally taking up his new role, François had the opportunity to visit Lennen and experience the school in person. During his visit, he met teachers, spent time in classrooms, and learned more about the school’s distinctive bilingual and international educational model.
These first encounters also provided an opportunity for the Lennen team to get to know its future Head of School. His warmth, professionalism, energy, and commitment to students made an immediate and positive impression.
Beginning a new leadership role with this direct experience of everyday school life provides an important point of connection between Lennen’s established identity and the next stage of its development.
A new school year always brings a sense of renewal: students return to their classrooms, teachers welcome their classes, and families come together again as a school community. This year, that beginning also marks the arrival of new leadership.
We look forward to welcoming François formally into the Lennen community and to beginning this next chapter together with our students, teachers, and families.
