The child is an artist. Art is a child’s most important way to express what he feels and believes. Art enables the child to resolve, examine and clarify ideas and concepts which he is learning. Thus we use varied art media including crayons, paints, paper, glue, collage materials, markers, clay, and Play-Doh.
It is important to remember that the process is more important than the finished product. Through the years at school, while exploring his/her own creativity, the child learns to observe art in different styles, cultures and historical contexts.
Art activities also gradually develop the small motor skills of the child.
