Following the Canadian idea of immersing English-speaking children into a completely French class, the Lennen Bilingual School has designed both a French and an English immersion program.

In the pre-school, the first part of this program consists of having two teachers in the classroom, one who speaks English and one who speaks French. Both work in small groups in the learning centers, but alternate in taking the whole group for circle time or story time.

The second part of the program is a daily total immersion time where the French students meet with the English teacher for activities specifically designed to develop their understanding and fluency in English. The English students do the same with the French teacher.

In the primary section, students work to attain their grade-level objectives in a curriculum taught in both English and French.
